As the leader of the treatment team, a Therapist is responsible for providing clinical assessments, counseling, advocacy, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families experiencing multiple and complex trauma, as well as a myriad of other mental health challenges and their expression. They are deeply familiar with other services and resources within the community and work closely with them to provide information and support when required, which often may include case conferences, team meetings, and appearance in court.

  • Leading the group treatment team, with the responsibility of ensuring each child successfully complete the goals set forth in their treatment plan by providing individual, group, and family therapy; thus improving social functioning.
  • Collaboration with internal and external resources to ensure the treatment plans created are successful.
  • Guide the young person through the entire treatment process, including intake assessments, interviewing and orienting the young person and their families, maintaining complete and detailed case records, providing ongoing summaries of service indicating client case history and progress, document progress notes for clients.
  • Advocating for the young person in court, accurately testifying to the progress of each case, and make assessments and recommendations based on the best interest of the child.
  • Provides leadership, assist with controlling disruptive behavior using agency approved methods of de-escalation and crisis intervention.

Part time and full time positions available

Education and Experiences

  • Master’s Degree in a Social Science. (required)
  • Current licensure in the state of Michigan: LLMSW, LLPC, LMSW, LPC, LP, LCSW (preferred) 
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
  • One (1) year of experience with at-risk youth (preferred)
